John L. Laccone Jr., 74, of Rossville, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, at his home in Rossville.
He was born January 20, 1949, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the son of John Lewis and Agusta (Mastrianna) Laccone Sr. On May 29, 1968, he married Annie J. Wilson; she preceded him in death on October 28, 2014.
John graduated from Watertown High School and from UConn University in Connecticut with an associate’s degree. He moved to Rossville over 20 years ago from Connecticut. John retired in 2016 from Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems in Lebanon as a foreman. He was the former owner of Big John’s Grinder Shop in Waterbury, CT. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frankfort where he was known as a faithful and Godly man. He loved to coach baseball, any kind of war board games, watching the Yankee’s, but more importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Doug) Chasse of Frankfort; son, John L. Laccone III of Rossville; sister, Rea Laccone of Beverly Hill, CA; four grandchildren, Douglas (Paige) Chasse Jr. of Mulberry, Nicholette (Whitney) Grice of Frankfort, Tiffany (Mitchell) Ward of Frankfort, and Brandine (Ian) Lowery of Frankfort; nine great grandchildren, Landon, Aubrey, and Liam Chasse; Benjamin Grice; Carter, Emma, and Paisley Ward; and Adley, and Violet Lowery.
In addition to his parents, and wife, Annie, John is preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Skyleigh Chapin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Williams officiating.
