Joseph Allen “Joe” McKinniss, 68, of Frankfort, died August 27, 2021. He was born September 9, 1952 in Lafayette, Ind. to Wayne Wilson & Julia Kay (Hanna) McKinniss. He married Cynthia Lynn Moore on November 24, 1973 in Frankfort and she survives.
Joe attended Clinton Prairie School and received his GED in 1980. He had lived in Mulberry and Frankfort his entire life. He had worked at Welty’s for 17 years, Frito Lay for 5 and was currently a custodian at Frankfort High School for the past 7 years. He was a member of the Christian Life Church for 41 years, where he was an usher & greeter and loved Bible Studies. Joe loved fishing, traveling, being outdoors and spending time with 
his family.
He is survived by his wife: Cynthia L. McKinniss of Frankfort, son: John Edward (Jana) McKinniss of Linden, daughter: Cassandra Jo (Scott) Irons of rural Frankfort, 7 grandchildren, Vera, Tabitha, Lillian, William, Bransen (fiancé Macaela), Ethan (wife Marissa) and Calista, 3 brothers: Wayne (Norma) McKinniss, Jim (Cindy) McKinniss & Mike (Diane) Bloomquist, 2 sisters: Judy (Harry) Clibon & Sharon Hill, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Christian Life Church, 2501 E. Wabash St., Frankfort. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 3rd at the church. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Christian Life Church Building Fund at the above address. Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S.
