Joseph Calvin Calloway, 95, of Frankfort, Ind., died April 8, 2020 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community. He was born December 17, 1924 in Clinton County, Ind. to Manson & Pearl (Stinebaugh) Calloway. He married Geraldine Bolinger in 1946 and she passed away in 1947. He married Julia Ann Hillman on July 8, 1948 in Kokomo, Ind. and she preceded him in death.
Joseph worked for Pete’s Feed for thirteen years, farmed, raised hogs, livestock and also worked for National Seal for 16 years, retiring in 1987. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church and a member of the VFW. Joseph enjoyed attending Army Reunions, gardening, fishing, visiting, playing cards, spending time with family. In the past, he enjoyed hunting & going to the farmers market.
He is survived by: 2 Daughters: Jane Ann Fry of Frankfort and Jenny Lynn (Kevin) Harshbarger of Rossville, 1 Son: Jon “Mark” (Gale) Calloway of Frankfort, Daughter-in-Law: Rebecca Calloway of California, 3 Sisters: Lelah Russell of Kokomo, Rosie Stroup of Frankfort, Joan (Jim) Tarkington of Frankfort, 18 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sons, Ronald Joe Calloway, Dee Edwin “Eddie” Calloway, and Kevin Drew Calloway, daughter, Janet Eileen Calloway, sister, Velda Molton and 6 brothers, Robert, Troy, Emmett, Jesse, William & Sylvester Calloway and son-in-law, David A. Fry.
Funeral Celebration:
Private family service will be Monday, April 13, 2020 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Due to the current circumstances facing our Nation, this service will be live streamed at 2 p.m. on Monday. To participate, please look for the link on our website.
