Joyce A. Galvin, 82, of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born in Frankfort on August 6, 1938 to Lewis Franklin and Ruby Mae (Greeno) Abbott. She married Robert Edward Samuel Galvin on May 5, 1964; he survives.
Joyce attended Frankfort schools and liked camping in her younger years. She was a member of Woodside Christian Church in Frankfort. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and taking care of her yard. She took pride in cooking for and hosting family holidays, which were a must, and loved raising all of her grandkids.
Surviving with her husband are her sons, Cameron Stratton (wife Marcia) of Frankfort and Jeff Galvin (wife Lori) of Russiaville; her daughters, Robin Brantner and Kimberly Baker (husband Brian), both of Frankfort; her brothers, Paul Warren and Denny Warren, both of Illinois; her sisters, Linda Gordon of Kokomo and Pat Christensen of Illinois; 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bill Abbott and Larry Abbott; and her stepchildren, Sam Galvin and Donna Sue Galvin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. A private family funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10 at the funeral home. The service will be live-streamed and may be viewed at www.gendafuneralhome.com. Entombment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
