Julia May Hooker, 92, of Frankfort, Ind., died September 1, 2020 at Aperion Care in Frankfort. She was born on May 12, 1928 in Clinton County to George E. and Frances Bernice (Redman) McCune. She married W. Woodrow Hooker on April 3, 1954 in Clinton County and he preceded her in February 18, 1994.
Julia attended Michigantown Schools and worked at Stark & Wetzel as a meat packer for 8 years and at the National Cigar Factory for 39 years. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. Other memberships include the Rifleman’s Association, Fraternal Order of Police, and the Sheriff’s Association.
Surviving family includes her Sisters: Liz Muey of Frankfort and Joy McCune of Bloomington; Brothers: John M. McCune of Frankfort and Bill McCune of Frankfort; and her Step-Son: Darrell Smith of Seattle, WA. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her son: Michael Elvis Hooker and 3 brothers.
