Julian Larry Stowers, 87, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025. He was born July 10, 1937 in Frankfort, IN to Milford & Ethel Jane (Shapley) Stowers.  He married Patsy Walker on January 31, 1960 at the Christian Church in Frankfort and she survives.

Larry was a 1955 graduate of Kirklin High School, 1959 graduate of Purdue University with a BS in Pharmacy and then in 1961 he received his Masters Degree.  A research scientist, he worked for Mead Johnson & Co., in Evansville for a short time, then worked at Eli Lilly as a Senior Scientist for 32 years, retiring in 1998.  He was a member of the Post Road Christian Church for 59 years, where he served as Deacon, Elder, Mission Chairman, Asst. Financial Secretary, and was a Sunday school teacher.  Larry was a licensed Pharmacist and a member of the President’s Council at Purdue University, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education.  He enjoyed spending time with family and Purdue Men’s Basketball. He loved the Lord and his family.  He loved well and gave generously to help others.

Larry is survived by his wife, Patsy Stowers of Fishers, daughters, Melissa (Jim) Sodo of Fishers, Julie (Jerry) Gibbs of Fishers, and granddaughters, Allison Thomas and LeeAnne Waldrip, both of Fishers.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Crystal Merrill, Doris Carney and Rosanna Dunn.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12 Noon Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Post Road Christian Church, 1112 N. Post Road, Indianapolis.  Funeral service will begin at 12 Noon at the church. Burial will be 3 p.m. Saturday, February 1st in Crown View Cemetery, Sheridan.  Memorial donations may be made to the Post Road Christian Church, 1112 N.
