June Film Events Coming to Frankfort Library

The Frankfort Community Public Library announces June Film Events. Audiences may enjoy classic films, award-winning musicals, and new releases throughout the month at several free programs.

Summertime Classic Theatre, featuring Bringing Up Baby, will be held in Skanta Theatre on Saturday, June 23 at 1:00 p.m.  Bringing up Baby (1938), which is not rated, was directed by Howard Hawks and stars Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. The film is part of the National Film Registry and the Online Film and Television Association.

Celebrate the wedding season with a screening of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at the Monday Matinee in Harry’s Coffee Bar on Monday, June 18 at 1:00 p.m.  Light lunch specials will be available for purchase.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) rated G, was directed by Stanley Donen and stars Jane Powell, Howard Keel, and Jeff Richards. The film won the Oscar for “Best Music, Scoring of a Musical Picture” in 1955 and was nominated in several other categories. In addition, Jeff Richards received the Golden Globe as “Most Promising Newcomer”.

Free Family Movie Night will be held on Tues., June 19 at 5:30. The movie A Wrinkle in Time (2018) rated PG will be screened. A Wrinkle in Time was directed by Ava DuVernay and stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Storm Reid. The movie is based on the Sci-fi fantasy children’s book by Madeleine L’Engle of the same name. L’Engle’s story is available for check-out at the Library in several formats including; graphic novel, book, eBook, and eAudiobook. All ages are welcome. Free popcorn and water will be served.
