Kenneth “Kenny” Dragoo

Kenneth “Kenny” Alan Dragoo, 72, Frankfort, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, June 19, 2022, surrounded by his family.  He was born in Lafayette on September 25, 1949 to George Dragoo and Ruth (Sowders) Coning.  On March 17, 1990 he married Sandra (Morris) Best, and she survives.

Kenny was a 1967 graduate of Kokomo High School and attended Frankfort Wesleyan Bible College from 1969-1971.  IN 1973 he moved to Kentucky where he owned and operated a wholesale foods business until 1984.  While living in Kentucky he became very involved in Gospel music ministry.  He founded and managed the gospel music group, The Delegates.  That ministry kept him quite active throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana.  After 8 years he became associated with the Grammy Award winners, Howard and Vestal Goodman of Madisonville, KY.  He remained with the Goodmans until they retired from their pastorate of the church in Madisonville and later moved to Nashville, TN.  He and Sandy moved to the Frankfort area, where he continued his gospel music ministry, performing in numerous churches throughout the area for many years as well as making several recordings.

He was known for his love for God, his family, friends and music.  He had a genuine love for people and his life impacted many people.  He was also known for his love for his four dachshunds. Skizzi, Duke, Ernie, and Sammy were cherished members of the family, who were devoted to him as he was to them.

Kenny was a member of Fountain of Life Church, Indiana Gospel Music Association, and the Frankfort Lions Club.

Along with his wife of 32 years, he is survived by his children, Steve (Kim) Best and Eric (Selena) Best; sister, Brenda (Ron) Skiles; half-brother, Damon (Amy) Dragoo; grandchildren, Montana, Autumn, and Cheyenne Best; and great grandchildren, Lillian, Ezra, and Miles.
