Kirklin Annual Santa Tour A Success Despite Cold Temperatures

It was a very cold night for Santa and crew in Kirklin for the annual Santa Tour.

Statements from the Kirklin Fire Department- “A huge thanks to all that came out on this chilly evening to greet Santa, Mrs. Claus, and elves. It was a extremely cold night, so we had a little change in our route to get everyone out of the cold a bit quicker. 90 min was about all Santa could handle. His rosey cheeks were blue by the time we got back to the fire station.

Huge thank you to Town Marshall Bright for leading the way and to Kenny at Valero Gas Station for the hot cocoa/coffee stop! Thanks to the members and their families for helping decorate and braving the cold.

This is our 9th Santa Tour and this one was bitter sweet. When we began 9 years ago when had an extra special Santa helper who has since gained her wings. You might have noticed the last truck was decked out all in orange lights. That truck was dedicated to the memory of Alisha Toney-Walters who passed away a few months ago. Orange was the color of ribbon representing her disease. We miss her presence today but know she was smiling down from heaven tonight”.

Due to the wind and cold Erick Dircks and drone decided it was not safe enough to fly in which he was very disappointed. Patty had prior engagement of basketball game so we are thankful to Jennifer Davis for capturing the evening. and her photos can be seen in links below.
