The Kirklin Town Council has ruled to greenlight another year of the Christmas Light Decorating Contest for residents in Kirklin to showcase their holiday spirit through their decorations.
The contest is open to all residents within the town limits, and only exterior displays will be judged. Participants from competitions in prior years are welcome to enter but may win another category.
The contest categories include “Best Overall Display,” which features a spectacular, eye-catching display that demonstrates creativity and effort, “Judges’ Favorite,” which is a display that uses lights in a particularly innovative or stunning way, and “Best Theme-Based Display,” which are displays based on a particular theme or story, such as “The Nutcracker, “Winter Wonderland,” “Santa’s Workshop” or “Nativity Scene.”
Registration will conclude in one week on Friday, Dec. 13. Registration may be completed by calling 765-279-8786, emailing [email protected] or visiting the Town Hall. Displays must be ready for judging by Wednesday, Dec. 18. Winners will be notified following the judging during the week of Dec. 23 or sooner.
Prizes will be awarded for each category.
