The Town of Kirklin has announced its need for plastic lids and caps for its program where it may trade in the lids and caps for reduced-cost benches for the park.
The Town stated that with the addition of the walking path, it seeks to install benches along the way to better spruce up the park and allow for those utilizing the path to have a comfortable resting place on their journey.
“Items like benches, playground equipment, etc. for town parks are expensive, so by helping us collect these caps and lids, you are helping your local park budget while also keeping the plastic lids and caps out of our landfills,” the Town released. “It’s a win for our community as well as for the environment.”
The donation receptacle will be placed in the hallway at Town Hall, and those who cannot visit Town Hall may contact the Town or the Town Superintendent to set up a time to pick up the lids and caps. Town Hall may be reached at 765-279-8786. The Town Superintendent may be reached at 765-209-2655.
The Town announced that Janet Cline and the rest of the “Lids for Linda,” in honor of Linda Barnett, group from Michigantown were instrumental in the launch of the program as they donated their remaining caps and lids to Kirklin.
