Kokomo Fire Department, Coroner Continue Investigation Into Weekend Fatal Fire

The Howard County Coroner’s Office released a statement regarding a Kokomo fatal fire death investigation that remains ongoing.

On Saturday, Jan. 18, just before 2:30 a.m., the Howard County Coroner’s Office was reportedly dispatched to 1131 N. Armstrong St. in Kokomo in reference to a decedent located in the scene of a residential fire. The Kokomo Fire Department was reportedly dispatched to the scene just after 11 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 for the structure fire.

The coroner’s office is working with the presumptive next of kin to meet the legal requirements of positive identification, and a forensic autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 21.
