Kokomo Grain to Auction Off Three Tennessee Facilities

Inside INdiana Business is reporting that Kokomo Grain Co. Inc. is set to auction off three of its Tennessee facilities in April. The company says it is looking to focus its operations on the Eastern Corn Belt, which led to the decision to sell the facilities.

The company operates three grain elevators in Manchester, Decherd, and Tullahoma, which are located between Nashville and Chattanooga. The facilities have a total capacity of 920,000 bushels.

The auction is slated for April 18 and is being conducted by Columbia City-based Schrader Real Estate and Auction Co. Schrader says it will also accept non-contingent offers beginning March 13.

“We will entertain offers on any combination of the facilities,” said R.D. Schrader, president of Schrader Real Estate. “So if there’s an acceptable offer, Kokomo Grain might sell one or more of these ahead of the scheduled auction.”
