At approximately 12:54 a.m. Thursday, officers of the Kokomo Police Department responded to 615 West Markland on a report of a male shooting victim. Officers arrived and located a 27-year-old Kokomo male with suspected gunshot wounds.
The Howard County Coroner conducted an autopsy on Kevin Allan Jackson, age 27, of Kokomo. The cause of death was ruled as gunshots to the head, neck and chest and the manner of death was ruled as a homicide.
KPD officers and detectives received information from witnesses at the scene as to the identity and location of the suspect. This information led to officers locating David Barner, age 27, in the 900 Block of East Superior, Kokomo. He was apprehended without incident.
Barner was arrested for Murder and transported to the Howard County Criminal Justice Center.
