
An investigation launched following reports of a 2-month-old infant with severe head trauma led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man in Kokomo.
On Sunday, March 23, a 2-month-old infant was reportedly brought to a local hospital with severe head trauma, ultimately being transferred to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment. The mother of the child allegedly indicated that the child was left in the care of the father, identified at Deangelo Harvey, 28, at the time the injuries occurred.
The Howard County Division of Child Services and the Kokomo Police Department reportedly launched an investigation that led to additional information related to the case, leading to a warrant being issued for Harvey on March 27, which led to his arrest in the 5000 block of South Webster Street in Kokomo. The warrant led to his arrest on charges of neglect of a dependent, Level 3 Felony, domestic violence battery on a child less than 14 years of age, Level 3 Felony, and intimidation, Level 6 Felony.
The child remains in critical but stable condition.
