At approximately 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Kokomo School Corporation officials were notified that a Bon Air Middle School student was in possession of a gun on a school bus this afternoon.
School officials immediately notified the Kokomo Police Department and the student was arrested for Possession of a Handgun on School Property, a Level 6 Felony, shortly after the reported incident. No threats were made to any students, no school was disrupted, and no injuries were reported. All students have been safely delivered to their homes this afternoon.
Kokomo Police wish to thank the students who quickly saw something and said something to report the serious safety threat. The students who reported this suspicion helped school officials and police officials act quickly to help keep our community safe.
