Kokomo Police Department Investigating Counterfeiting Case

At approximately 8:12 p.m. Monday, Officers of the Kokomo Police Department responded to the Village Pantry, 2021 S. Goyer Rd. in reference to counterfeit money being used. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a black male used 3 counterfeit $100.00 bills to load money onto a pre-paid Visa card.  Shortly before this incident, the suspect attempted to do the same thing at the Village Pantry at 1801 E. Lincoln Rd. but the transaction was denied.  The same suspect also passed counterfeit $100.00 bills at the Village Pantry at 301 W. Markland Ave. and the Speedway at SR26 and US931. The suspect was described as a black male, medium build, wearing a black baseball cap and having a beard.  The suspect was a passenger in a newer, gray/silver Chevrolet Malibu with a white female driver.
