Kokomo Police Investigate Shooting

At approximately 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Officers of the Kokomo Police Department responded to the 600 block of Bradford Drive on a report of a shooting that had just occurred.  Upon arrival, officers located a (17) year old victim with a gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to Community Howard Hospital, and transported by helicopter to Indianapolis for further treatment.  He is currently in stable condition.

One suspect fled the scene to a nearby apartment.  After a brief negotiation, he exited the apartment.  A search warrant was executed on the apartment and officers located a 9mm handgun and ammunition.

After speaking with many witnesses and reviewing videos in the area, Cameron Craft, 19-years-old, was arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail.  Craft was charged with Criminal Recklessness, a level 5 felony.  Officers also located three additional handguns apparently discarded in the area of the apartment complex.

This investigation is on-going.  Additional arrests are expected.
