With the escalated number of people in Kokomo Rescue Mission’s homeless shelters, the need for raising support is more imperative than ever.
Kokomo Rescue Mission will hold its annual Walk a Mile in My Shoes fundraiser on Saturday, February 24, to raise crucial support for the women and children staying in their shelters. This one-mile walk includes a kickoff ceremony at 8 a.m.; a hot breakfast (freewill offering), tours of the two women’s shelters (Watered Garden and Open Arms), and a chance to hear the stories of women who’ve stayed in the shelters.
You can get involved with Walk a Mile by organizing a team to walk, registering to walk as an individual, and/or donating toward the cause. Visit kokomorescuemission.org/walk-a-mile to register and donate. You can also visit the Mission Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to register or donate (321 W. Mulberry St., Kokomo).
