“Kroger Building” To Become Automobile Dealership?

The former Marsh or Kroger building at 2021 E. Wabash Street may become a car dealership/auto repair location.

The structure was originally purpose built for a Supermarket used by Kroger.   About three years later Marsh took over the building and continued to use it as a supermarket.   The structure has been empty since Marsh vacated it several years ago.  There was some talk in August of 2021 about using the location for a Tech Center.  That option is no longer being pursued as the proposed “Cradle to Career Tech Center” proposed location has moved East a couple of blocks next to the Frankfort School Administration Building, leaving the 2021 E. Wabash location a structure with unrealized potential.

Frankfort Board of Zoning Appeals will review this proposal at a public hearing scheduled for Wednesday May 17, 2023 in the City Council Chambers in Old Stoney.

The proposed use for the building is listed as “Perform automotive repair, new/used motor vehicles, RV’s, and motorcycle sales”
