L. Jean Rule, 95, a former rural Michigantown resident, passed away February 22, 2020 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, Ind. She was born April 14, 1924 in Clinton County, Ind. to Ernest O. & Helen Blanch (Wilson) Sheets. She married Russell V. Rule on January 24, 1942 in Kirklin and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2010.Mrs. Rule was a 1942 graduate of Michigantown High School and a 1962 graduate of Rudae’s Beauty School in Lafayette. She had worked for Ushco Manufacturing in Frankfort and Phillip Morris Company in Richmo
nd, VA. As a war bride, Jean followed Russ through various Army training camps while his unit was preparing to go to Europe. Jean was owner of Cozee Curl Beauty Shop in Michigantown for 25 years. She was a member of the Michigantown United Methodist Church, a 75-year member of Beard O.E.S. where she was past Worthy Matron. She loved cooking, making angel food cakes and butterscotch pies. She also enjoyed family fishing trips in Canada, traveling and helping others.
She is survived by 2 Daughters: Patricia Ann Mundell of Marion, NC, Janet K. (Roger) Cline of rural Forest, 1 Son: Michael L. (Cathy) Rule of rural Michigantown, 7 Grandchildren: Brice Mundell, Kandee (Brian) Bradley, Joanna (Gary) Kingery, Dwain (Kimberly) Rule, Karen (Bryan) Wright, Aaron (Holly) Cline, Alison (Michael) Williams, 17 Great Grandchildren: Cole, Leah & Marie Kingery, Caden, Rylan & Claire Rule, Austin, Evan & Sarah Wright, Keller, Kooper & Baylen Bradley, Kinzie, Lexi & Ainsley Cline and Kim & Lilly Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and brother, Robert O. Sheets.
Funeral Celebration:
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, Ind. Funeral Celebration will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2020 at the funeral home.
