The Lafayette Fire Department has deployed personnel and emergency response resources to assist with ongoing water rescue and evacuation operations in the Anderson area at the request of the State Emergency Operations Center.
As of 7:25 a.m. Friday, six Lafayette Fire Department personnel, led by Assistant Chief Roby, had been deployed to assist with the emergency response.
The deployment also includes three members of the West Lafayette Fire Department and two representatives from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office.
Each participating agency is bringing specialized personnel and emergency response equipment to assist with water rescues and evacuations as conditions require.
The current deployment is expected to last approximately 24 to 36 hours, although that timeframe could change depending on weather conditions, operational needs and the ongoing emergency response.
The Lafayette Fire Department said it is proud to assist neighboring communities and the State of Indiana during the critical flooding situation.
“Our personnel are working alongside partner agencies to provide assistance where it is needed most,” the department said.
