The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office has released information regarding the motor vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Teal and 22nd Street on Wednesday, March 26 that involved one fatality of a Lafayette man.
The deceased was positively identified as Jeremy Rice, 43, of Lafayette. On Thursday, March 27, a forensic autopsy was performed, and the preliminary autopsy results were:
- Cause of Death: multiple blunt force injuries due to motor vehicle crash
- Toxicology: pending
- Preliminary Manner of Death: accident
The investigation remains ongoing with the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office and the Lafayette Police Department. The Coroner’s Office released a sentiment for Rice’s family as they process his loss.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Jeremy, and we hope they are respected during this difficult time,” the office released.
