Lafayette Police & Frankfort Police Serve Six Warrants In Nov. 14 Shooting Incident

The Lafayette Police Department, in conjunction with the Frankfort Police Department, served six warrants on Tuesday for six individuals involved in a shooting incident on Nov. 14 last year.

On Nov. 14, 2023, the Lafayette Police Department reportedly launched an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on Beck Lane that resulted in multiple gunshots striking a home and a truck, which culminated in the conclusion of the extensive investigation when the Lafayette police joined forces with the Frankfort Police Department to successfully serve arrest warrants on July 23, 2024.

According to the departments, six individuals were taken into custody on varying charges, including Keaton Compton, 27, Manuel Vega, 21, Lazaro Vega, 19, Madison Heathcote, 19, Wyatt Williams, 22, and a 16-year-old juvenile male.

Compton was subsequently charged with attempted murder, attempted aggravated battery, battery by means of a deadly weapon, intimidation, criminal recklessness, criminal mischief, obstruction of justice, unlawful carrying of a handgun by a felon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Manuel Vega was charged with attempted aggravated battery, battery by means of a deadly weapon, intimidation, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, obstruction of justice and unlawful carrying of a handgun.

Lazaro Vega was charged with assisting a criminal, obstruction of justice and false informing.

Heathcote was charged with assisting a criminal and false informing.

Williams was charged with attempted aggravated battery, battery by means of a deadly weapon, obstruction of justice and unlawful carrying of a handgun.

The juvenile, whose name was not released by the departments, was charged with attempted aggravated battery, intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a dangerous person.

The Lafayette police reported that all six individuals were arrested without incident, and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
