Lanny Russell “Pudge” Kelly, 86, a former Frankfort resident, passed away April 29, 2025 at Tuscany Gardens, Pataskala, OH. He was born January 27, 1939 in Frankfort, IN to Russell Fuller & Wilma Maxine (Morris) Kelly. He married Carolyn Jean Kaser on March 12, 1961 and she survives.
Pudge was a 1956 graduate of Frankfort High School. He had worked as a buyer for Briggs Plumbing Products in Flora for 20 years and for Mallory Controls from 1965-1983. He had previously attended the First Baptist Church and was a former member of the Elks Lodge. Pudge enjoyed bowling for over 50 years, fishing, watching sports and was an avid I.U. fan. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his grandchildren. Over the years, he enjoyed 31 family round trips to Myrtle Beach.
Pudge is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jean Kelly of Canal Winchester, OH, son, Mark A. (Sarah E.) Kelly of Canal Winchester, OH, grandchildren, Phillip Thomas Kelly of Ohio, Rachel Maxine Kelly of Ohio, brother and sister-in-law, Gary L. (Lynn) Kaser of California, special niece, Lori (Eric) Miller of Indianapolis, nephews, Russell F. (Sandy) Kelly of Texas and Eric Doyle of California and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry J. Kelly on March 28, 2016 and sister-in-law, Nancy Kelly on March 27, 2003.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. – 12 Noon Monday, May 5, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Clinton County Cancer Fund.
