Due to the storm that went through Clinton County and Frankfort late Saturday afternoon, there is a major power outage throughout the entire county, according to Utility Service Board General Manager Todd Corrie.
Corrie also said he has no idea when power will be restored because there are broken poles and poles on fire in various parts of Clinton County. He added crews have been called in from outside the area to aid with restoring power.
In Frankfort, the stop-and-go light at Clay and Walnut is out as is the one at Walnut and Maish Road. Everyone should proceed through that area of town with caution. Also, Washington Avenue is closed between Hoke Avenue and Maish Road due to a power pole being in the street.
USB Chairman Mike Kelley said all available Frankfort, Power and Light employees are working to assist with the situation. Additional outside sources are being brought in to assist.
Kelley is asking resident to please be patient. Some outages may be overnight.
