Larry Gene Sheets, 82, of Kirklin, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. Born August 29, 1942, in Lebanon, Larry was a son of the late Floyd Warren Sheets and Helen Pauline (Reagan) Sheets.
On Nov 25, 1961, he was married to Julia Ann (Brown) Sheets in Clinton County. She passed away on July 25, 2023.
Larry was a 1960 graduate of Jackson Township High School. He had dedicated his career to the United States Postal Service, delivering mail for over 34 years.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather. He enjoyed mowing the lawn, playing golf and softball, and was an avid fan of the Indianapolis 500. Larry held memberships with the Mechanicsburg Christian Church and National Association of Letter Carriers.
Survivors include two children, Angie (William Bogan) Sheets of Kirklin and David Sheets of Kirklin; four grandchildren, Alexis Mosby, Kylie Mosby, Martita Sheets, and Victoria Sheets; great grandson, Giovanni Abdul-Haqq; brother, Donald (Judy) Sheets of Lebanon; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Larry was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Jane Ann and Robert Byland and a brother in infancy, James Harvey Sheets.
The family will host a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Mechanicsburg Christian Church in Mechanicsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his arrangements for cremation.
