Larry “Joe” Scott, 61, of Frankfort, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born April 27, 1957, in Clinton County, to Wesley and Connie (Moudy) Scott; his father, Wesley, and step-mother, Shirley Wells Scott, survive. Joe was formerly married to Glenda Byrne Louks. On April 24, 1993, he married Darlene Savard at Antioch Christian Church; she survives.
In 1975, Joe graduated from Frankfort Senior High School; he was a member of the Frankfort Eagles Lodge. He worked as a quality control ink lab tech for SunChemical for over 37 years before retiring. Joe was an avid outdoorsman who spent many hours mushroom hunting, coon hunting, trapping, and fishing. He greatly enjoyed sports and made time for golf every weekend with the Scotts. Most of all, Joe loved his kids and grandkids.
In addition to his wife, father, and step-mother, Joe is survived by his children, Jennifer Scott, of Bloomington, Jerah Edgar (Dylan Davis), of Jamestown, Jake (Tara) Scott, of Westfield, and Darrell (Ashley) Luepnitz, of Francisville; brothers, Andy (Deb) Scott, of Rockville, and Greg Scott (Shannon Huston), of Bloomington; sister, Pam (Mike) Reeder, of Frankfort; step-sister, Sandra Wells (Ed Cottrell), of Frankfort; brother-in-law, Gary Savard, of Marquette, MI; grandchildren, Cody Luepnitz, Aden Scott, Aila Scott-Randall, Isabella Edgar, Sofia Edgar, Abram Davis, Wesley Scott, Hannah Scott, Lucas Scott, Christian Luepnitz, and Mackenzie Luepnitz; one great granddaughter, Lynlee Nicole; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Connie; step-brother, Victor Wells; grandson, “Baby Bryan” Luepnitz; uncles, Don, Spike, Roy, and Bob Scott, Jack King, and Frank Wade; and aunt, Barb Eldridge.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Joe’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorials in Joe’s name may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Clinton County or the Clinton County Humane Society.
