Today is the final opportunity for community members to help the Lafayette Farmers Market bring home the title of Indiana’s Ultimate Farmers Market.
The historic market is among more than 50 farmers markets across the state competing in the 2026 Indiana Grown Ultimate Farmers Market Challenge. Voting closes Wednesday, August 5, and supporters can cast one vote each day by visiting Indiana Grown and selecting the Lafayette Farmers Market.
Established in 1839, the Lafayette Farmers Market is one of Indiana’s oldest continuously operating farmers markets. The market has been a community tradition for generations, offering fresh produce, homemade goods, and locally crafted products to residents of Greater Lafayette.
Organized by Greater Lafayette Commerce, the market takes place every Saturday from May through October in downtown Lafayette on 5th Street between Ferry and Columbia streets. The market is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and features more than 120 vendors each week.
Supporters can learn more about the market at Lafayette Farmers Market.
The winning market will be announced on Saturday, August 8, as part of National Farmers Market Week.
With voting ending today, community members are encouraged to take a moment to cast their final vote and help celebrate a Lafayette tradition that has been serving the region since 1839.
