Lavon L. Chittick Wagoner, 88, of Rossville, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born April 13, 1930, in Clinton County to Artus C. and Daisy E. (Skiles) Wagoner. On November 16, 1946, she married Max Eugene Chittick; he preceded her in death in August, 1999. She later married Ezra H. Wagoner on November 9, 2003; he passed away April, 2017.
Lavon had attended Rossville Schools and was a member of the Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Lavon worked on the farm, feeding animals, in the fur shop, and with the finishing work in the construction company. She will be remembered fondly as a small but mighty lady whose fun and energetic spirit was infectious. Lavon passed her love of the outdoor to the rest of her family through many camping, hunting, and fishing trips to both Canada and Alaska over the years where many fabulous meals were prepared. She was an artist with a passion for painting.
Surviving Lavon are her children, Jerry Chittick, of Rossville, Garry (Zoe) Chittick, of Greencastle, Gordon (Diane) Chittick, of Rossville, and Donna (Richard) Longenecker, of Rossville; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, Lavon is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gilbert Wagoner.
Visitation for Lavon will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church with the Home Brethren officiating.
