Lawrence W. “Bob” Neely, 69, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Franciscan Health in Lafayette. He was born March 16, 1949, in Somerset, KY, to Cecil H. and Betty Kathryn (Jones) Neely.
After graduating from Clinton Central High School, Bob enlisted in the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. He had worked for many years at Wabash National Metal Fabrication and was a member of the American Legion in Kirklin. Bob enjoyed NASCAR, coffee and the newspaper.
Surviving Bob are his son, Justin Lemen; daughters, Brandy Lamberg and Rachel Lemen, all of Lafayette; brother, Mark H. Neely, of Frankfort; sisters, Diana Sue (Luther) Ramsey, of Frankfort, and Deborah L. Neely, of West Lafayette; four grandchildren; and other family members including Mike Hardesty, Matt Hardesty, Melanie Pippenger and Christina Gumm as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sally (Stan) Larson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery.
