‘Leading With 2020 Vision’ Tuesday, October 13

The WILO/Chamber of Commerce “Leading With 2020 Vision” series continued Tuesday morning with Clinton County Health Officer Dr. Steve Tharp.

“We need to take a look at the comparison between the vaccine and the measures we’re taking now,” said Tharp. “Assuming the vaccine is as helpful as we believe it will be, we have had information that vaccines may well be in the range of 60 percent effective which some may think is kind of low. That’s right in the range where influenza vaccines for viruses have been and they have been very helpful for us. Masks could reduce the transmission of the virus by about 60 to 80 percent. I look at that and say the masks are as effective as the vaccine. What should be really effective is to combine those two together.”

Join us Wednesday for another WILO/Chamber of Commerce “Leading With 2020 Vision” with Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition Executive Director Lorra Archibald.
