Lebanon Couple Arrested on Child Abuse Charges

Lebanon residents Mark Crudup, 23, and Rochelle Withers, 20, were both arrested on August 23, for an outstanding warrant for two counts of Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 3 Felony.

On August 6, Investigators with the Lebanon Police Department were notified by the Indiana Department of Child Services of a 4-month-old child that had been taken to an area hospital with suspicious injuries. The 4-month-old child was admitted to Indiana University’s Riley Hospital for Children with multiple fractures throughout his body. Doctors determined that the fractures, which were located at various locations on his body, were found to be in various stages of healing. Doctors indicated to investigators that some of the fractures were healing (10 to 14 days old), while some of them were fresh fractures (less than 7 to 10 days old).

After interviewing both parents, Crudup and Withers, and other family members, investigators turned their findings over to the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office with a recommendation for charges against both parents. After reviewing the reports and available evidence, both Crudup and Withers were both charged with Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 3 Felony.

Both Crudup and Withers were incarcerated in the Boone County Jail after warrants for their arrest were issued out of Boone County Circuit Court. Both
Crudup and Withers are being held on a $25,000.00 bond.
