Lebanon Hires Josh Yoder As New Head Football Coach

The Lebanon Tigers announced the hiring of Josh Yoder as their new football coach.

Yoder takes over for Jeff Smock, who stepped down after eight years at the helm for the Tigers.

Lebanon chose to promote from within as Yoder served as the team’s defensive coordinator a season ago. After a slow start to the season, Yoder’s defense picked it up in the final six games of the regular season giving up just 6.3 points per game across that stretch.

During his 20-year coaching career, Yoder has served as a coordinator or associate head coach at several different schools, including Bluffton, Muncie South Side, Evansville Reitz, and Brownsburg.

The school released the following statement on coach Yoder.

“We are confident that Coach Yoder will bring energy, passion, and a strong work ethic to our football program, and we are excited for the future under his leadership.”

The team comes off a 9-3 year a season ago that saw them fall in the sectional championship to Huntington North.

Yoder will look to lead the Tigers to a sectional championship for the first time since 1997.
