Victim Identified in Lebanon Shooting on Monday

The Boone County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in yesterday’s deadly shooting as 17-year-old Jamie Lee Dover, Lebanon. An autopsy conducted Tuesday determined that Mr. Dover died of a single gunshot wound. The manner of death is still being investigated.

Investigators are continuing to actively investigate this tragedy. Investigators will present their findings to the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office in coming days, who will then decide what charges, if any, the juvenile suspect will face.

Investigators with the Lebanon Police Department are investigating a shooting that led to the death of a teenage male. At approximately 1:17 p.m. Monday, the Boone County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the parking lot of J&J Muffler, which is located at 1404 West South Street in Lebanon.

Police arrived to find a 17-year-old male deceased outside of a vehicle in the parking lot. There were also two other juvenile’s that were taken present when the shooting occurred, whom were both taken into custody without incident. Through the investigation, it was learned that one of the juveniles was a witness to the shooting and the other has been considered a suspect.

Investigators are continuing to work to determine the events that lead to this deadly shooting. The suspect, a 16-year-old male, has been incarcerated in a secure juvenile detention facility pending the filing of formal charges.

Investigators will work with the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office to determine what charges, if any, will be filed in this case. Due to the ages of those involved, their identifications are being withheld at this time. Notification has been made to the family of the deceased. This is an ongoing investigation and updates will be released as available and appropriate.
