The Lebanon Public Library, in partnership with the Community Foundation of
Boone County (CFBC), hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of a new
community resource: free public access to Candid’s Foundation Directory Online – one of
the most comprehensive grant databases in the country.
The event, held at the Lebanon Public Library, welcomed community partners, nonprofit leaders,
and local officials for a brief program introducing the initiative. Representatives from the library
and CFBC spoke about the importance of providing access to funding tools that support
nonprofit, educational, grassroots, and community-focused work across Boone County.
With this new offering, anyone connected to the library’s Wi-Fi can now search for grant
opportunities through the Foundation Directory Online – opening doors for organizations of all
sizes to explore funding sources, connect with grant makers, and strengthen their missions.
“This tool will empower local organizations to do more good, with more resources,” said CFBC
CEO Julie Reagan. “We’re proud to partner on this effort to increase access to funding and build
capacity across our community.”
CFBC supported the launch of this resource as part of its ongoing efforts to equip Boone
County’s changemakers with the tools and connections they need to thrive. The Candid
Foundation Directory Online includes detailed profiles on thousands of foundations,
grant makers, and recent grants awarded across the country.

The database is now available to the public at no cost, simply by connecting to the Lebanon
Public Library’s Wi-Fi onsite or using a Library computer.
