Lebanon Resident Critically Injured in Crash

At approximately 8:33 a.m. Sunday, the Lebanon Police Department, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, Lebanon Fire Department, Whitestown Fire Department, and Boone County EMS were dispatched to collision on Interstate 65 northbound at the 138 mile-marker exit ramp.

Officers arrived to find a single vehicle that had left the interstate and was found on its roof near Perryworth Road. The initial investigation indicates that the vehicle was being driven by 40-year old Francis Craig of Indianapolis. Craig was traveling in the left lane near the 138 mile-marker exit ramp, when for unknown reasons the vehicle crossed over the middle and right lane before rolling through the ditch and coming to its rest.

During the collision, passenger Damon A. Debard, 54 from Lebanon, was ejected from the vehicle. Debard was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with life-threatening injuries. Craig was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with minor injuries.

This collision is currently being investigated by the Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team.
