Lebanon Schools Announces December 2023 Tiger PRIDE Champions

Lebanon Community School Corporation announced the December 2023 Tiger PRIDE Champions to celebrate the students that showcase persistence, respectfulness, initiative, dependability and efficiency in their daily schoolwork and extracurriculars.

According to Lebanon Schools, the students chosen as champions must be a student that is able to perservere through challenges and problem-solve, accept and demonstrate service to others, possess a positive attitude and communicate clearly, be a self-starter and critical thinker, demonstrate responsibility, teamwork and academic readiness and is organized, punctual and self-managing.

Tate DeLaRosa is announced as a December 2023 Tiger PRIDE Champion.

The December 2023 Tiger PRIDE Champions were announced as Tate DeLaRosa, Kate Williams, Amellia Spencer, Alexis Lahrman, Jordan Hart, Lilly White, Harper Floyd and Lily Christian.

DeLaRosa of Lebanon High School was described as being wise beyond his years with the ability to understand the subjects of study completely and not resting until he comprehends every facet of every topic. DeLaRosa has sought a larger role in the Key Club, which he has influenced for the past few years, and he has been noted to participate in numerous service-oriented projects. DeLaRosa was recognized for his efforts to collect coats, hats and scarves while sitting in the rain at Western Boone as well as his volunteering to design and build a box that the corporation may utilize for collections at future events.

“He is compassionate and empathetic,” faculty wrote. “He is always up for a challenge and loves to learn new things. There are so many instances of Tate exemplifying the character traits emphasized by PRIDE. Tate is the embodiment of these characteristics.”

Kate Williams is announced as a December 2023 Tiger PRIDE Champion.

Williams of Lebanon High School was described as a student that exemplifies Tiger PRIDE every day inside and outside of the school walls. Faculty members stated that Williams has shown outstanding sportsmanship and has held herself to a high standard within the academic atmosphere while maintaining a strong moral compass. Williams has served as an office assistant for three years and was described as dependable, respectful and helpful without complaints. Williams also supports and cheers for her peers at different sporting events.

“She is not only an outstanding student academically, she is a phenomenal tennis and golf teammate,” faculty wrote. “She also shows great sportsmanship as other schools have commented on her respectfulness.”

Spencer of Lebanon Middle School was described as an extremely involved student inside and outside of the school, participating in FFA, softball and the 8th grade PBIS.

“Even with such a busy schedule, she maintains outstanding grades and, even more importantly, a positive attitude,” faculty wrote. “Amellia is a role model to her fellow students and teachers can always count on her to help out. Perhaps the best quality of Amellia is her kindness and smile.”

Amellia Spencer is announced as a December 2023 Tiger PRIDE Champion.

Lahrman of Lebanon Middle School was described as a student with an exceptional work ethic and a motivated willingness to learn new subjects during her daily classes. Lahrman was further applauded for her level of compassion she showcases for her fellow students that faculty expressed was beyond the expectations of most 8th grade students.

“A good leader, caring person, highly motivated and outstanding student, Alexis is very deserving of this honor,” faculty wrote.

Alexis Lahrman is announced as a December 2023 Tiger PRIDE Champion.

Hart of Central Elementary School was described as the type of person that anyone would want on their team with his passion for academics, his compassionate personality and his unmatched loyalty for those around him. Hart was further described as harnessing a phenomenal work ethic and his humility, being the first to admit when a subject is unclear to him while showing an eagerness to learn more.

“Despite his many accomplishments, he is always seeking self-improvement and new perspectives,” faculty wrote. “Jordan is the complete package–a thoughtful friend, a passionate learner, a tireless worker and a humble soul. He is one-of-a-kind, and we are so grateful to have him at Central Elementary.”

White of Harney Elementary School was described as an outstanding student who brings positivity and dedication to every facet of her academic experience, never failing to aim for excellence in her endeavors. Faculty wrote that White exceeds in supporting her peers regardless of whether she struggles with a subject, and she has set high standards for her academics and kindness.

Lilly White is announced as a 2023 December Tiger PRIDE Champion.

“She is the perfect role model and strives to be her best self every day,” faculty wrote. “In a world that needs more positive influences, Lilly is an inspiration, and we’re lucky to have her with us.”

Floyd of Hattie B. Stokes Elementary School was described as a kindhearted and helpful student with an outstanding work ethic that translates perfectly into the classroom where she pays attention to all subjects and demonstrates an eagerness to learn. Floyd has been noted as a leader who helps her peers understand difficult lessons with a motivation to help her teachers with tasks around the classroom. Floyd acts as a peer model for the 4th and 5th grade life skills class.

“She is a leader and role model in the school,” faculty wrote. “She takes pride in everything she does, and it shows in her accomplishments.”

Christian of Perry-Worth Elementary School was described as a respectful student who actively listens when others are speaking and awaits her turn to share her thoughts. Faculty noted that White demonstrates her persistence when facing challenges in the classroom, demonstrates her initiative by taking an active role in her learning by seeking opportunities to contribute, demonstrates her dependability by attending class every day punctually and ready to learn with her materials organized and demonstrates her efficiency by making the most of the class periods and balancing her workload efficiently.

Harper Floyd is announced as a December 2023 Tiger PRIDE Champion.

“To optimize each learning opportunity, she makes succinct contributions during lessons that move discussions forward,” faculty wrote. “Lily is such a joy to have in the classroom, and I cannot wait to see what her future holds.”
