The City of Lebanon Fire Department Administrative Chiefs and members of Laffer 213 B-shift attended the Lebanon High School scholarship presentation ceremony last night to award a new scholarship to a Lebanon student.

The Lebanon Professional Firefighters, International Association of Firefighters Local 5195, established a scholarship that is awarded to one graduating senior planning to study fire or emergency medical sciences, and this year marked the first year that the scholarship was awarded.

This year’s recipient was announced as the Lebanon Fire Department’s own intern Emily Sperry who has proven her dedication to the fire department over the year through her internship.

“LFD is proud that the first name on the plaque is our own intern Emily Sperry,” the department released. “We would like to thank Local 5195 District Vice President Sam Kornicks for inviting us on stage to present the award.
