The Lebanon Tigers baseball team and the Frankfort Hot Dogs softball team celebrated their seniors last night following close games against area rivals.
The Lebanon Tigers split the doubleheader against Danville last night, which was preset by the celebration of the seniors on the team. In the first game, the Tigers rose to the top with a score of 5 to 2, but the Tigers fell short during the second game with a score of 5 to 9 in favor of Danville.
Prior to the doubleheader games at Memorial Park in Lebanon, the team celebrated its seniors, including Caleb McClaine, Corbin Wells and manager Joshua Knight.
The Hot Dogs softball team also celebrated their seniors last night amidst wonderful weather that allowed for their third and final home game of the season to run successfully. Prior to the game, seniors Jada Vessels, Mitzie Lopez-Lopez, Lexie Coffman and Koko Nakakita were recognized for their time and dedication to the Frankfort softball team. While the Hot Dogs continue to strive for a victory this season after another loss last night, the game was filled with outstanding plays from Vessels, Lopez-Lopez, Coffman, Chloe Moudy, Kam Campbell, Jackie Tovar and Caroline Queen, with Queen achieving her first over-the-fence homerun of her high school career.
“This is a young team that is growing with each and every game,” Frankfort High School staff member Richard Sallee wrote.
The Hot Dogs are gearing up to face off against the Crawfordsville Athenians tonight in Crawfordsville.
