Over 150 high schools and more than 3000 runners traveled to Terre Haute on Friday night and Saturday night for the Nike Twilight Meet last week.
The race is put on by Cross Country Town USA, the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF), Garmin, the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau and Terre Haute South Vigo High School.
The Lebanon Tigers participated in the meet and did well in both the JV girls’ race and the Boys Open race.
In the JV race, Hayleigh Coyle finished 211th, Leah Ziats finished 280th, Hadley Warren finished 288th and Abbie Gulliams finished 305th out of 395 total runners.
In the Boys Open race, which featured 745 runners, Lebanon placed 59th out of 83 teams despite missing some of their top runners.
In the Girls Open race, which featured 476 total runners, Lebanon’s Penny Lamerson took home first place with a time of 19:18 and the Tigers finished 14th out of 56 teams.
