Leona M. Hendrickson, 82, of Mulberry, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Mulberry Health and Retirement. She was born December 20, 1938, in Oronogo, Missouri to Lloyd and Lois (Sims) Whitehead.
Leona graduated in 1957 from Redmond Union High School in Redmond, Oregon. She retired in 1996, after 16 years of service, from the Speedway/Marathon Company as the maintenance coordinator. She had also worked for the Mays Family Center department store at Schererville, IN for 10 years. Leona enjoyed crocheting, gardening, roses, but was an avid fan of the Oregon Ducks. She had attended several Methodist churches throughout her life.
Surviving Leona is a daughter, Debora (Dennis) Boese of Lafayette; sons, Jerry (Debra) Hendrickson of Crown Point and Brad (Tina) Hendrickson of Crown Point; brothers, Cecil and Bobby; sisters, Doris, Carolyn, Peggy, and Mary; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Diana Louise Hendrickson; brothers, James and Billie; and sisters, Lucille, Betty, and Florence.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 1pm at the Woodlawn Cemetery 1605 Center Street Auburn, Indiana, 46706. Genda Funeral Home ~ Mulberry Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions in Leona’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 50 E. 91st St.-#100 Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
