Let’s Talk Trails Community Town Hall Set for September 16

Frankfort and Clinton County residents will have an opportunity to learn more about a proposed trail connecting several community destinations during a “Let’s Talk Trails” Community Town Hall on Wednesday, September 16.

The event will focus on the proposed “Wesley Manor/Lagoon Trail,” a connector trail designed for walking and bicycling. The town hall will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Trinity Hope Center, located at 806 N. Columbia Street in Frankfort.

Hosted by Friends of Clinton County Trails in partnership with the City of Frankfort, Frankfort Municipal Utilities and the Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition, the event is designed to give residents an opportunity to see the proposed route and learn more about the project.

Attendees will be able to review maps showing the proposed trail route and view drone footage of the corridor. The project team will also be available to answer questions and provide information about the plans.

The proposed connector would provide a route linking downtown Frankfort with several frequently used destinations, including Prairie Creek Park, TPA Park, Frankfort Commons Golf Course, Wesley Manor, the Frankfort Lagoons and the Milky Way.

Walking tacos will be provided during the event, and attendees will have a chance to win a bicycle in a giveaway. Children and families are welcome to attend.

The meeting also provides residents with an opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts as planning for the trail continues. Information regarding the proposed route, project plans, funding, timeline and design will be discussed.
