Library Announces Concert Series Lineup for 2018-2019

Tickets for the 2018-2019 Friends of the Frankfort Library Concert Series go on sale starting October 22nd at 9 a.m. The series tickets are $40 for four concerts. The series tickets will continue to be on sale until after our first concert on November 17th.  Individual tickets can be purchased beginning on October 29th at 9 a.m. They are $13 per ticket.  Doors open 30 minutes before show time.  Below is our 2018-2019 Concert Series Line-Up:

Cornfields and Crossroads

Cornfields and Crossroads is made up of seasoned musicians who have long histories in bluegrass music. Darrell, Dan, Joe, & Mark are playing some of the most exciting, hard driving and sometimes softer side of bluegrass in the Midwest. Cathy Morris

Cathy Morris is an electric violinist and vocalist. Her electric violins and “party jazz” sound is an eclectic blend of musical adventures exploring all corners, and leaving no door unopened. Cathy is a musical ambassador and has performed for world leaders and dignitaries. She is and educator in addition to being a recording artist, composer/arranger, and producer.

Carrie Newcomer

Carrie Newcomer is a Grammy-winning songwriter, recording artist, performer, and educator. She has been described as a “Prairie Mystic” by the Boston Globe and one who “asks all the right questions” by Rolling Stone. Recent appearances include PBS Religion and Ethics and National Award Winning Krista Tippet’s podcast, On Being. Newcomer has also released two companion books of poetry & essays, A Permeable Life: Poems and Essays and  The Beautiful Not Yet:  Poems, Essays & Lyrics.

Boogie Woogie Kid

The Boogie Woogie Kid was such a refreshing act in our 2017-2018 series; we decided to bring him back. Matthew performs timeless music from the 20’s, 30’s & 40’s with a focus on New Orleans and Swing piano styles.
