Linda L. Chappell, 85, of Lafayette, passed away at her home in Lafayette on June 19, 2021. She was born on June 13, 1936, in Peru, Indiana to Arthur and Mary (Morris) Freshour. She married Eugene F. Chappell in Monticello; he passed away on April 21, 2002.
Linda was a graduate of Royal Center High School. She had been a bus driver for 27 years and secretary for the Dayton Elementary School. She enjoyed golfing, camping, and traveling. She was a very active member of the Eastside Assembly of God Church in Lafayette where she and her husband, Gene, were instrumental in the creation of the church.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Christine) McKinney and Bryan McKinney both of Lafayette; six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; son, Brad McKinney; brothers, Richard (Vera) Freshour and Robert (Janet) Freshour; and a sister, Marie (Homer) Martin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Eastside Assembly of God Church, 6121 E 50 S, Lafayette with funeral services following at 12 noon. Pastor Wayne McGuire will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
In lieu of floral arrangements, Linda would be honored for donations to be made to the Eastside Assembly of God Church, 6121 E 50 S, Lafayette, IN 47905.
