Linda Howe

Linda Howe, 76, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born May 6, 1943, in Crawford, Tennessee, to Robert and Virgie (Hargis) Cooper.  Linda married Harvey E. Howe in Lebanon. He passed away on September 11, 2001.

Linda worked for the City of Frankfort from 1976-2004, retiring as the assistant park superintendent.  She was a member of the Eagles Lodge, the VFW Auxiliary, several card clubs in Frankfort, and was a past member of the Living Word Ministry Church.  She also served as the past president and was the current Sergeant at Arms for the American Legion Auxiliary.

Linda is survived by a son, Jeremy Howe of Frankfort; daughter, Angela Ford of Frankfort; sisters, Bonnie Curnutt of Frankfort, Brenda Huffer of Kingman, Jane Rodriguez of Frankfort, Phyllis Emens of Lafayette, and Lori Abbott of Frankfort; brothers, Winston Cooper of Hanging Limb, Tennessee, Truman Cooper of Beaver Dam,  Kentucky,  Bobby (Chris) Cooper of Frankfort, Tommy Cooper of Texas, and Mike (Carol) Cooper of Frankfort; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Robin Crews; brother, James Paul Cooper; and sisters, Lena Painter and Peggy Downs.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Genda Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.  Linda’s brother, Truman Cooper, will officiate.  Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frankfort Parks Department Petting Zoo.
