Linden Depot Museum Opens April 2 for 2021 Season

Pictured is a full-sized replica of a 1837 Norris 4-2-0 Steam Engine. It is located at the Linden Depot Museum.

The Linden Depot Museum is scheduled to open Friday, April 2 for the 2021 season. New exhibits have been added to make your visit an enjoyable experience. We have restored the Interlocking Electrical Equipment Shed (circa 1927) to its original state. Visitors will be able to see the relays used to operate all of the signals in the vicinity of the depot.

The tender used to haul coal and water for our 1837 Norris 4-2-0 steam engine is nearing completion. The tender held enough coal and water for approximately 30 miles of travel in 1837.

The museum offers a one-of-a-kind railroad experience – one museum with three unique attractions:

  1. The original 1909 railroad depot

  2. The 1837 Norris 4-2-0 steam engine, tender, and passenger coach

  3. The model railroad attraction

The Linden Depot Museum staff is here to narrate the story and make your visit enjoyable. Admission is $6 for adults, $1 for children 12 and under. Memberships are $30 for families and $12 for single memberships. The museum is a 501C3 not-for-profit, organized 27 years ago. The museum is located at 520 North Main Street, Linden, IN 47955.
