The Linden Depot Museum will open for the season on Friday, March 31. The museum will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The admission price of $6 for adults and $1 each for children includes all museum attractions. This summer we will have two special events:
Sunday, June 25: From noon to 5 p.m., we will showcase our European HO model railroad attraction. The museum acquired a large donation of European HO model railroad equipment, including Marklin, Roco, Fleischmann, and others. Our board member, Greg Reynolds, a retired Rolls-Royce electrical engineer, has worked on this project for over 2 years to make the attraction an outstanding exhibit of European HO superb technology. This is a very unique display and well worth a visit to the museum.
Saturday, August 12: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., we will host our 3rd Annual Midwest Railroad Fair. The fair will include railroad exhibitors, railroad vendors, food vendors, and much more. During the fair, we will run our 1837 Norris 4-2-0 steam engine. We will make three trips: 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2:30 PM. This is a chance of a lifetime to experience 1837 railroad transportation! The train fare is $25 per person, includes a gourmet dessert, drink, and a narrated trip. Each trip will accommodate eight persons.
Tickets are on sale now and are available at the museum or by calling 765-427-3630. The museum is located at 520 N. Main Street, Linden.
