Inside INdiana Business is reporting that Pennsylvania-based Little League International is moving forward with a yet-to-be-determined location in Whitestown for its Central Region Headquarters. In July, the global youth baseball and softball organization dropped plans to relocate the regional operation to Zionsville. The Central Region Headquarters left its longtime space in Indianapolis in 2016 and launched a bidding process that included several communities in central Indiana.
The Central Region Headquarters handles administrative responsibilities for the organization’s activities in Kansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Board Chair Hugh Tanner says “after a thorough evaluation of local communities within the Central Region, the Little League International Board of Directors are pleased that this opportunity involving Whitestown was presented to us and we are looking forward to seeing what the community has to offer. This opportunity takes us one step closer to finding a home for our Central Region Headquarters and we are excited to see how the Whitestown community can support Little Leaguers throughout the region.”
The organization and the community are working to complete a formal agreement and Little League International says “at this time, there are no additional details regarding the selection process or any future plans” and that it will provide additional information when available.
