He attended Fountain Central High School and enjoyed helping his father on the family farm. When he wasn’t working, Lloyd could often be found alongside his lifelong best friend, Don Strickler, sharing laughs and getting into a bit of mischief. He also was a 22 year veteran of the National Guard. Lloyd spent many years working in local factories, including Conagra Foods and Stalcop. He was an active member of the Eagles for as long as his health permitted, where he enjoyed visiting with friends and listening to live music.
Lloyd took great pride in maintaining a clean home and vehicle. He could often be found browsing local garage sales, always on the lookout for a good find. An avid euchre player, he rarely passed up a chance for a game, often persuading Star and other family members to join in to complete a table of four. Above all, Lloyd cherished time spent with his family, especially when gathered together over a meal—his favorite being outings to Golden Corral.
Along with his partner of 37 years, Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Adrianne ( Dustin) Flick of Seymour, and son, Timothy ‘Tim’’ (Karen) Woodruff of Frankfort; Brother, Leon (Mildred) Bartelson of Aurora, Illinois and many friends and family members who will miss him dearly.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Charles Robert Bartelson, and his brother, Lyle Bartelson.
Visitation will be held on May 1, 2026, from 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home where the Clinton County Honor Guard will commemorate Lloyd’s service. The family warmly invites all who knew Lloyd to share a story or special memory during the service. In honor of Lloyd, a meal will be held following the service at The Eagles in Frankfort.
